About the project

An external portal — the company’s inner confidence.

The British Council is a global organization operating in over 100 countries, with 7,000+ staff and hundreds of initiatives in education, culture, and social development. The company turned to IWIS to create an external news portal — the primary communication channel with its global community and partners. The platform wasn’t just about showcasing the company’s work — it had to enable transparent, secure interaction with end users worldwide.

The client's problem

The organization needed a tool that combined global reach, adaptability, and compliance with high information security standards.

Key challenges:

  • to create a portal with two visual themes: a full-color version and a black-and-white one;
  • to implement an advanced system for content management and moderation;
  • to ensure a high level of information security and compliance with international standards;
  • to choose a hosting solution that handles high traffic and protects data on a global scale.
Case information

We developed an external portal for effective global communication and secure content management.

  • The project covered all stages — from in-depth analysis to deployment and security audit — to deliver a scalable and reliable platform for an international organization.

    Our approach:

  • We started with Discovery: gathering requirements, designing UX scenarios and interactive prototypes, aligning the budget and security audit.

    Next came the full development cycle: design, layout, coding, and testing. The platform was built with a responsive architecture, two visual themes, and a flexible back office.

    The next step was an independent security audit, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

    The final stage included deployment to a dedicated server, performance testing, and handing over all documentation to the client.

Project Outcomes

  • After launch, the client received:

  • a unified public platform for communication with a global audience;

  • an intuitive content management system with flexible role distribution for teams across multiple countries;

  • an automated publishing workflow that sped up editorial work and reduced operational costs;

  • a unified design that strengthened brand recognition across all regions of presence;

  • a verified level of security following an independent audit, enabling the system to scale into new areas.

  • The platform became the central hub for the organization’s external communication, bringing together local offices, partners, and users in a unified digital environment.
