About the project

From the App Store to the customer's heart: an optimized app has become a key asset for River Mall

River Mall is the largest shopping and entertainment center on the left bank of Kyiv. Under one roof with an area of 140,000 m², it combines diverse shopping, active recreation, delicious food, and new experiences. The mall has over 250 stores of top fashion brands and electronics. River Mall has a food court with a terrace and a panoramic view of the Dnipro River, a 10-screen cinema, children's entertainment areas, and more.

Client Challenges and Needs:

The River Mall team actively develops and maintains native mobile applications for interacting with customers. They also offer loyalty programs for visitors. Over time, a large number of complaints began to appear from users. There were difficulties that negatively affected the customer experience. For example:

  • systematic complaints about the unstable performance of applications in the App Store and Google Play;
  • problems with download speed and interface response.

Such difficulties only emphasized the need to improve the technical part of the applications in order to increase their reliability for customers.

How we solved the client's problem

We created an indoor navigation service that is still unmatched on the Ukrainian market.

  • We started, as usual, with a detailed analysis of the application code. Next, we identified priority “quick wins” that could rapidly improve the user experience. The following steps included establishing communication with end customers and organizing work with ratings on the App Store and Google Play. We generated ideas, compared them with competitive services, added analytical information, and found the best solutions together with the River Mall team. As a result of the brainstorming sessions, we formed a strategic roadmap.

Work results:

  • The implementation of the project took River Mall’s apps to a new level. This was evident from the very first days of launch. Key achievements include:

  • integrated indoor navigation service. It helps users easily navigate the shopping center (no analogues exist in Ukraine yet);

    • updated loyalty program functionality;
  • improved analytics collection and work with personalized scenarios;

    • detailed documentation developed and training conducted for the internal team.
  • These results allow the application of the massive shopping and entertainment complex to remain one of the best on the Ukrainian market.
